No, you do not need an appointment. You can drop in during the dedicated opening hours as stated on our homepage. Please note that we break for lunch from 12.30pm to 1.00pm and there will be no staff available to assist you during this time.
Everyone must have a first visit so don't worry! If you are unsure of what you should do once you arrive at our yard, park up in a safe place and make your way safely to reception. Our staff will be able to advise you how best to proceed.
Yes, you will need to bring:
a) a form of ID – this can be either a photo driving licence, a passport and utility bill or a gun licence.
b) your bank account details so that we can pay you. We will need your account name, sort code and account number.
We can accept your scrap without ID, but unfortunately, we will not be able to pay you for it until we have the correct ID on file.
Unfortunately, the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 states that it is illegal to pay for scrap metal with cash since December 2012.
We pay by bank transfer and endeavour to pay our customers by 6.00pm the same day. There may be times when payments can take longer but this is very rarely. If you have not received payment within 2 days, please get in touch.
You can get in touch with us via phone call, text via WhatsApp or Meta/Facebook Messenger or complete on online form on our Contact Us page, or pay us a visit at the yard.
If you are VAT registered, then you should be charging us VAT on the income you are generating from the scrap you are selling us. We can add VAT to your ticket if you supply your VAT number or alternatively you can send us your own invoice, whichever is easiest for you. Contact us or speak to a member of staff during your visit for more information.
If you are a business selling us hazardous waste (scrap vehicles and batteries are classed as hazardous waste) then there are additional steps that need to be undertaken. Click here to find out more.
Yes, we do. Please note that we currently do NOT accept electrical/hybrid vehicles.
Yes, we pay for vehicles by weight. Prices can change therefore please contact us for an up-to-date price for End-of-Life Vehicles.
Please bring relevant ID and details as stated above and the vehicle’s logbook/V5 – if this is not available, an old MOT will suffice. If you do not have any of these documents, we can collect the details from the vehicle itself once at our site.
No. We are an Authorised Treatment Facility and are licensed by the DVLA to produce a Certificate of Destruction on their behalf. The Certificate of Destruction will be your proof that the vehicle has been scrapped at our site and removed from the DVLA’s database.
We would advise that you remove/transfer the registration number from the car you are scrapping prior to bringing it to our yard – this will avoid losing the registration number and incurring any fines for non-payment of road tax.
We do not currently accept electrical (EV) or hybrid vehicles. We recommend contacting the vehicle's manufacturer for further advice.
We accept all kinds of metals including general scrap metal, copper, brass, aluminium, lead, stainless steel and cables.
Yes, unfortunately we cannot accept the following:
Different types of metals have different values, and prices can increase or decrease on a daily basis. Please contact us for up-to-date prices.
Yes, we have large Roll on Roll Off skips that we can leave at your property for up to 2 weeks for you to fill with scrap metal. We will then collect the skip and once back at our site will weigh the material in the skip and work out what the scrap is worth using the prices in the yard on that day. We will deduct a haulage fee as discussed when you order the skip, and then pay the remainder to your nominated bank account.
We have two different sized skips – 20 and 30 yarders. Both sizes are 20ft long however the 20 yarder has shorter sides. You can fill the smaller skip up to “fill level”.
With the larger skips no material should be higher than the bar at the back door.
Speak to us or the driver on delivery if you are not sure.
Filling the skip to a dangerous level could mean that we have to leave the skip so that you can rectify the load, and this could incur an extra haulage charge.
You can put any scrap metal in the skip, please see listed items above of what we do not accept. We only accept metal in the skips. Any non-metal material received (i.e. organic waste, wood, rubbel etc.) will be weighed and deducted from the amount due to you together with a disposal fee.
No, we do not accept whole touring or static caravans due to the amount of non-metal material they contain.
ELECTRIC POWERED VEHICLES
PLEASE NOTE that we DO NOT ACCEPT Electric Powered Vehicles
